keithdanieltrio: News

Date Added, New Venue - September 20, 2008

We will be playing at Coach's Brewhouse on Saturday, September 27th at 9:30p or whenever the OU game is over. This is a new venue for us and we are excited to be playing in Norman again. Come out early and hang out with the band before the show and celebrate the birthday of our Sound Engineer, Matthew Hilton. Thanks for all your support and we hope to see you all there!

Sept 5th cancelled - August 25, 2008

I'm sorry to have to report another show cancellation, but our booking company has informed us that TapWerks had double-booked Sept 5th for a special event they are hosting there. Regrettably, we will not be performing this date either. My apologies to everyone for the confusion.

No show tonight or on the 29th - August 23, 2008

There's been a bit of confusion about whether we're having a show tonight. We did have one posted for a while, but the date was traded for later dates on the calendar. The OU Tailgate party show on the 29th will be cancelled as well due to unforeseen circumstances. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused.

Detrich's this weekend - August 12, 2008

Come watch keithdanieltrio blow the roof off of Deitrich's Club in Shawnee this weekend!!

I know, driving sucks. But I promise you'll have a good time if you come out to see us! Plus, Deitrich's is one of the coolest places we play.

Sign-up for our mailing list so we can keep you informed on all the cool stuff we have going on...

New Dates - August 4, 2008

We've posted several new dates under the "live" section.

We'll be sure to keep you informed once we've booked others.

Have a good week =)

Keith

Stillwater - April 27, 2008

We had a great show with James Price Band in Stillwater last night. It was nice to get to play an all-original set. We were happy to see some of you out so far from home. Thanks to everyone!

Thanks to Kevin - March 26, 2008

Many of you have noticed that we have recently added new pictures of the band here and on our myspace page. These pictures were taken and edited (both quite expertly) by Kevin Keath McMillan, a long-time friend of the band.

We want to take this opportunity to recognize Kevin for the wonderful work he's done and let him know that he's been instrumental in the success of the band thus far by providing a quality of photography services most people can't even buy.

In a humble effort to repay him for the work he's already done, we'd like to point you in the direction of one of his current major photography projects.

Kevin has been working on a book that he describes as an "homage to the open road" entitled "Land Flight: A Baby Boomer's Return to Motorcycling". Having been fortunate enough to view his work on this project before publication, I have to say that some of the shots are nothing less than stunning. It is the type of creative effort that demands attention from all demographics.

Please visit his website, bookmark it and purchase a copy of his book once it is available for sale.

iTunes, et. al. - February 25, 2008

Hey guys,

I've added a rough recording of one of our new songs (Curse) to the music page that you can download.

Its not for sale yet, so consider it a gift, but check out our full-length, independent album for sale on iTunes:

If you'd like a physical copy, the album is for sale at amazon.com and cdbaby.com.

Also, don't forget to check us out at Lumpy's on March 22nd. This will undoubtedly be an incredible show as we help one of our favorite fans celebrate his birthday in one of our favorite venues. As always, we'll be there with CDs and t-shirts for sale for $5 each.

We look forward to seeing a lot of you guys in the next few months.

Thanks for everything,

-Keith

Thanks! - February 18, 2008

Thank you to everyone who came out to see us play at TapWerks on Saturday. We were amazed at how many of you came. The place was almost filled to fire code capacity.

Check out our live page often as we will be adding new dates for the upcoming months. Also, we've got more new recordings on the way so make sure to check back for those also.

Belle Isle Brewery - November 5, 2007

Hey guys,

We're playing at Belle Isle this Saturday night. The show will probably start around 10pm or so. We hope to see you guys out.

In other news, we're doing a little housecleaning to our sound and learning/writing some new music and making tweaks to the show here and there.

One final note:

We love being a band that doesn't need pitch enhancers or digital samples, iPods, etc...to make our performances quality. Everything you hear from us on stage is purely musicianship; fingers and voices. The use of any of the aforementioned technology, we feel, blurs the line between what musicians are and what DJs are.

We are not DJs.

This Band is Back in Business - October 2, 2007

Thanks to the generosity of friends and local music stores (who shall remain nameless at their request), the keithdanieltrio is back in business.

The theives didn't even slow us down...we didn't so much as have to reschedule one rehearsal.

Relationships are the core of the music business.

Thanks to everyone who helped.

ALL OF OUR EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN STOLEN - September 24, 2007

This morning at approximately 6:15 am someone broke into the storage facility where Joe had his trailer stored off of SW 15th in Midwest City. The trailer contained approximately $35,000 worth of our equipment. The trailer is white with the band logo and website on the sides and rear. Best we can tell, it is a blue 90's model four-door one ton dually with a matching blue topper. Below are some pictures of the truck from the security video. IF YOU HAVE SEEN OUR TRAILER, HAVE ANY INFORMATION, OR HAVE EVER SEEN THIS TRUCK AND KNOW WHERE WE MAY BE ABLE TO FIND IT, PLEASE CONTACT US!! We have alerted the media and the local authorities and are pursuing all possible means of retrieving our equipment.

Upcoming Shows - September 9, 2007

Hello all, we know it has been a long time since the last update. We have been working on new material and we are excited to be able to play it for you. We have two shows coming up this weekend. Saturday, Sept. 15 we are playing at Lumpy's Sports Bar in the Weokie Credit Union building at NW Expressway and Macarthur. The other is a battle of the bands being held by Gorilla Productions at the Bricktown Ballroom on Sunday, Sept. 16. This is a great opportunity to hear a variety of local music for one low price. The show starts at 4pm and tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. We would greatly appreciate you coming out and showing your support.

keithdanieltrio advances to OKC Emergenza finals! - June 22, 2007

The band will play at the OKC Emergenza finals tonight at The Opolis in Norman, OK. Our set starts at 7:50pm and lasts until 8:10pm but as there are 13 other OKC bands and 1 Tulsa band there, the evening is sure to be full of good, original music.

Come out and see some of OKC's best live entertainment, help vote for the keithdanieltrio to advance to the regional finals in Dallas and lend your overall support for live music. Tickets are $20 at the door. Check out our live page for more information about the show, including an address for the venue and a link to the Emergenza website so you can see who else is playing. Hope to see you there.

No more shows at the Bricktown Brewery - May 4, 2007

Some of you may have read about this in the Oklahoman, but for those of you who haven't, The Bricktown Brewery is under new ownership and new management and will no longer host live music.

Besides getting a make-over throughout the restaurant and a complete menu change, the upstairs will be completely renovated to have the PA and stage removed. In addition, the bar, pool tables, and video games are also being eliminated.

The new owner basically explained that live music no longer drives business for Bricktown and should no longer be a part of the Bricktown scene. Instead, the owner explains that the upstairs space will be used for banquet halls.

I don't know about you, but I still think that there is a thriving live music scene here in the OKC metro that is about more than dollars and cents. Perhaps getting people to care is the hard part of all this, but its painful to see such a historic live music venue be changed so dramatically, especially when there are so few of them left here in OKC.

It saddens me to see this sort of thing because for me it represents a breakdown in the appreciation of culture. Sure you can go to clubs and dance to pre-recorded songs and even experience the "artistry" of a talented DJ. But it seems that real talent, or even personal artistic expression is something that people in general are no longer comfortable experiencing.
